In 2018, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) issued regulations governing working hours, leave, and compensation for university staff. According to Clause 5, the university’s working days, official holidays, and annual holidays align with those established by the Cabinet for government officials, as outlined in the Royal Gazette and the Prime Minister’s Office Regulations on Leave for Government Officials (2012), Section 3—Leave to Assist a Wife During Childbirth.

Clause 20 specifies that staff members who wish to take leave to assist their legally recognized wives during childbirth must submit a leave request through their supervisory chain to the authorized officer, either before or on the date of leave, within 90 days from the date of childbirth. Eligible staff are entitled to a continuous leave period of up to 15 working days.

These regulations highlight the university’s commitment to helping employees balance work and family responsibilities, particularly during important life events such as childbirth. By providing paternity leave and fostering a supportive, family-friendly workplace, RUTS demonstrates its dedication to employee well-being and reinforces its image as a progressive and compassionate institution.
