Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), together with its Alumni Association, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Songkhla Province, the Songkhla Provincial Administrative Organization, Songkhla Municipality, Hat Yai Municipality, Singhanakhon Municipality, and the Sports Authority of Thailand to organize the “Songkhla Marathon 2024.” The event took place on September 24–25, 2024, at Chalatat Beach.
The marathon aimed to promote tourism in Songkhla Province, raise public awareness about health, and enhance the province’s reputation in sports. The event drew approximately 7,000 Thai runners and over 400 international participants.
RUTS is one of the main organizers of the Songkhla Marathon, an international running event. RUTS participated not only as an organizer but also served as one of the designated parking areas for participants. In addition, many university students volunteered to support the marathon and also took part in the fun run, gaining valuable experience in event management and community engagement.
