Details:
In 2024, the Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) launched and expanded its MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) Platform, which recorded a significant increase in learner engagement—reflecting a transformation in how the public accesses and utilizes educational resources. The platform offered 20 premium, short-term, competency-based courses across multiple faculties, including Industrial Education & Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, Liberal Arts, Management Technology, Hotel & Tourism, and Industrial Technology & Management. These courses provided flexible, high-quality online learning opportunities designed to build practical and professional skills for students, working professionals, and the general public. The platform functions as a digital public learning hub, supporting continuous personal and career development while strengthening workforce capabilities within local communities.
Impact Result :
The initiative expanded equitable access to lifelong learning by opening high-quality digital courses to learners of all ages and backgrounds, beyond traditional university enrolments. By integrating practical, employment-oriented learning into flexible online modules, the platform enhanced workforce skills, supported self-directed learning, and promoted continuous upskilling among community members. This project demonstrates how RUTS leverages teaching and digital innovation to democratize education, foster a culture of lifelong learning, and advance inclusive access to knowledge in alignment with SDG 4.
