Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) organized the Appropriate Technology Symposium 2024: “Appropriate Technology for Sustainable Living” to enhance learning through real-world academic engagement. The event, held in collaboration with nine RMUT universities nationwide, provided students, lecturers, and researchers with opportunities to exchange knowledge, present innovative projects, and explore how technology can be applied to improve quality of life and community well-being.
This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to Teaching and Learning excellence by integrating classroom knowledge with experiential learning and research-based practice. Students gained hands-on experience through exhibitions, academic presentations, and interactions with experts and entrepreneurs, strengthening their ability to apply innovation and critical thinking in solving social and economic challenges.
Aligned with SDG 1.4.1, 1.4.3, and 1.4.4, the symposium enhanced access to technological and educational resources for sustainable livelihoods (SDG 1.4.1), expanded learning opportunities for all through inclusive academic activities (SDG 1.4.3), and supported collaboration in policy and education networks that promote poverty reduction and sustainable development (SDG 1.4.4). The event demonstrates how RUTS integrates teaching, research, and community engagement to cultivate graduates who are capable, socially responsible, and ready to drive innovation for a sustainable future.
