RUTS Standards and Guidelines for Water Quality
October 10, 2025

Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) has established policies and procedures to manage and reduce wastewater from its buildings and canteens, in compliance with the 2005 Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment wastewater regulations. These measures aim to safeguard public health and the environment:
- Staff operating wastewater treatment systems must be trained and certified according to municipal standards.
- Grease traps in canteen wastewater systems must be inspected and cleaned by qualified professionals every six months.
- All wastewater treatment equipment, including aerators, pond covers, and sewage pumps, must be regularly inspected and maintained, with any faults promptly repaired or replaced.
- Canteen, shop, and beverage booth staff are encouraged to collaborate on water conservation to reduce wastewater generation.

In addition, RUTS organized a training program on wastewater management according to Green Hotel standards on September 11–12, 2024, aiming to enhance seawater quality and promote sustainable tourism in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea.
