Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RMUTSV) has established a comprehensive scholarship policy as part of its institutional Policy & Operation framework to promote educational equality and enhance student welfare. This policy reflects the university’s commitment to implementing systematic measures that ensure all students, regardless of economic background, have the opportunity to access and complete higher education. By allocating university and external funding sources to provide scholarships, tuition waivers, and financial aid, RMUTSV reduces economic barriers and supports academic success among students from low-income families. The policy is managed through transparent procedures and clear eligibility criteria, ensuring fairness, accountability, and sustainability in its operation.

This initiative directly aligns with SDG 1: No Poverty, specifically addressing SDG 1.3.1–1.3.5. It supports the inclusion of students from the lowest income groups through targeted admissions and scholarships (1.3.1), promotes the successful completion of studies among disadvantaged students (1.3.2), and offers continuous financial and institutional support to reduce dropout risks (1.3.3 and 1.3.4). Furthermore, it fulfills SDG 1.3.5 by providing grants and financial aid mechanisms that ensure students from low- and middle-income backgrounds can pursue higher education without financial hardship. Through this scholarship policy, RMUTSV demonstrates an operational model that integrates social responsibility into institutional governance, creating an equitable and supportive educational system that empowers students, strengthens human capital, and contributes to long-term poverty reduction and sustainable national development.
