On 8 November 2024, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), Nakhon Si Thammarat Campus (Saiyai), participated in the Senior Citizens School Project, organized by the Tham Yai Subdistrict Municipality, Thung Song District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. The event was held at the former Tham Yai Subdistrict Municipality Office, Village No. 2, Tham Yai Subdistrict, and presided over by Mr. Anan Dansakul, Mayor of Tham Yai Subdistrict. Representing RUTS, Asst. Prof. Dr. Khwanhathai Jaipiam, Vice President of the Nakhon Si Thammarat Campus, along with university staff, joined the event to support and engage with the elderly participants. The project aimed to promote lifelong learning among senior citizens, focusing on enhancing physical, mental, and social well-being while raising awareness of their rights, protection, and care. Additionally, the initiative emphasized the importance of preserving and sharing local wisdom, enabling the elderly to take active roles in community development and social inclusion.
Impact Result :
 The project empowered senior citizens with lifelong learning opportunities that improved their health, social participation, and self-confidence in adapting to a changing society. By engaging the elderly as active learners and contributors to community development, the initiative strengthened intergenerational connections, preserved local wisdom, and reinforced RUTS’s commitment to inclusive outreach and lifelong learning beyond the campus—aligning with the principles of SDG 4.
