On 21 November 2024, Prof. Dr. Suwat Thanyaros, President of Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Khwanthathai Jaipiam, Vice President for Nakhon Si Thammarat Campus, led members of the University Council to visit the Smart Greenhouse and Smart Poultry House at the Faculty of Agriculture. This activity aimed to showcase agricultural innovation and advanced food production systems that integrate modern technology with sustainable practices.

The Smart Greenhouse currently cultivates various melon varieties, grapes, and hydroponic vegetables. These crops are grown in a controlled environment using advanced technology to ensure optimal growth conditions, high quality, and food safety. The Smart Poultry House operates as a closed, IoT-controlled system, allowing precise control of temperature, humidity, light, and ventilation. This system improves poultry health, maintains product quality, and enhances overall production efficiency.

Both smart facilities are used as learning and training centers for agriculture students, enabling them to develop practical skills in modern agricultural technologies. Students gain hands-on experience in production, environmental control, and farm management, which are essential competencies for future sustainable agriculture professionals.

This initiative reflects the university’s strong commitment to sustainable food systems. By integrating smart technologies with agricultural education, the project supports sustainable production, reduces resource waste, and enhances food quality and safety. The Smart Greenhouse and Smart Poultry House at RMUTSV serve as exemplary models of sustainable agriculture through the integration of innovation, technology, and education. These facilities not only support high-quality food production but also provide students with essential skills for future agricultural development.
