Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) has implemented a Strategic Plan for Research and Innovation (2023–2030) that emphasizes the development of socially beneficial innovations aimed at enhancing community well-being and generating sustainable economic value. The plan focuses on producing technology and innovations tailored to local needs—such as water management systems for agricultural areas, renewable energy applications for households, and sustainable livelihood models aligned with community lifestyles. Through collaboration with government agencies and private sector partners, RUTS integrates research, innovation, and social responsibility to address community-specific challenges effectively. Moreover, the strategy promotes lifelong learning by organizing free workshops and public training sessions on waste management, local raw material processing, and modern agricultural technology, empowering individuals to acquire essential life and vocational skills that improve their quality of life and adaptability to social and economic change.
Impact Result :
The strategic plan strengthened the university’s role as a driver of inclusive innovation and lifelong learning, enabling communities to access practical technologies and research-based knowledge for self-sufficiency. By linking research, innovation, and public education, the initiative empowered local people with hands-on skills, promoted sustainable livelihoods, and fostered continuous learning opportunities for all. This policy-driven approach demonstrates how RUTS’s operational framework translates research and innovation into tangible social impact, aligning with SDG 4’s mission to expand lifelong learning access and create equitable opportunities for sustainable community development.
