The university provides public access areas within its campus to accommodate individuals of all ages, serving as spaces for relaxation, tourism, various activities, and educational events. Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Trang Campus, has opened a new tourist destination zone at Koh Chanee on September 6, 2023. The event featured food and beverages from faculty and community products, creating a vibrant atmosphere. The renovation of Koh Chanee into a new tourist site is part of a project aimed at driving creative economy initiatives in innovation and technology, focusing on sustainable marine tourism. Koh Chanee is ideal for leisure activities, including monkey feeding, fish feeding, and offering local food and drinks. The university recognizes the importance of promoting proactive tourism in Trang province. In addition to Koh Chanee, tourists can enjoy relaxation at Rajamangkol Beach, view underwater wedding beaches, engage in camping activities by the sea, go kayaking, or visit the aquarium.

On July 15, 2023, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Trang Campus, organized the “Camping on the Beach: Invite to Pitch a Tent and Relax by the Sea” event at Rajamangkol Beach, Trang. The event garnered participation from local government officials, university administrators, faculty, staff, students, and the general public. The project aims to enhance tourism development by considering the natural capacity for support, community practices, and environmental conservation, ultimately leading to significant tourism development in Trang province. According to Assoc. Prof. Kosin Phatanmani, the Deputy Rector of Trang Campus, this event aims to develop human resources in tourism with high skills (Reskill & Upskill & New Skill) through professional tourism development programs. It also focuses on developing innovations and technologies to enhance marine tourism’s competitiveness on an international level, along with establishing a beach management system to promote quality marine tourism marketing that meets global standards. The initiative aims to develop coastal tourism communities by implementing policies that foster sustainable tourism, creating job opportunities, promoting culture, and local products.
In alignment with this project, RUTS Trang Campus also offers comprehensive courses in sustainable tourism management. These programs equip students with the knowledge and skills to develop and implement environmentally responsible tourism practices, ensuring tourism growth that respects both community values and natural resources. Students in these programs actively engage in fieldwork, such as the “Camping on the Beach” event, where they gain hands-on experience in sustainable event planning, tourism marketing, and resource management—essential competencies for the future of tourism in Trang province and beyond.
The event included various activities such as beach camping, beach soccer competitions, paddle sports contests, and free concerts featuring artists like Fias Sirawut and Amp C2. There were also designated photo spots and sand sculptures at Rajamangkol Beach, along with sales of products, inviting the public to participate while considering environmentally friendly tourism practices or Zero Waste initiatives.

Additionally, on July 13, 2023, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya held the “Sand Art: Rajamangkol Beach Sand Sculptures” project to welcome tourists to the Camping on the Beach La Viva Beach Camping event at Rajamangkol Beach, Trang. This creative effort involved faculty and students from the Fine Arts and Architecture programs at the university.

Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya collaborates with government agencies to manage policies aimed at facilitating parking space, which is currently insufficient for various events in Songkhla Province, such as the Songkhla Triathlon and Songkhla Marathon.
The Songkhla Provincial Administration Organization was set to organize the annual Beach Volleyball Project for the fiscal year 2023 from April 6 to 8, 2023, at the Thai Pavilion area of Samila Beach, Mueang District, Songkhla. The event aims to promote exercise and sports among children, youth, and the public in Songkhla (Songkhla Sport City), enhance tourism and recreation, and boost the local economy. Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) had provided facilities to accommodate the participants and will also manage parking arrangements for attendees during the event.
This event aligns with several Sustainable Development, particularly good health and well-being, by promoting physical activity and encouraging healthy lifestyles among children and youth. By fostering an inclusive environment for sports, the Beach Volleyball Project also supports reduced inequalities, as it provides equal opportunities for all participants, regardless of their background. Additionally, the initiative contributes to decent work and economic growth by stimulating local economic development through increased tourism and engagement with local businesses. Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) plays a crucial role in this initiative by providing facilities, managing parking, and supporting event logistics, ensuring a smooth experience for all attendees.
