On November 29, 2024, Asst. Prof. Piya Prasongchan, Vice President of Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, together with staff from the Division of Student Development and members of the Muslim Student Club, handed over a newly constructed school building to the Committee of Darunmuttakeen Mosque (Ban Wat Nod), located in Moklan Subdistrict, Tha Sala District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.
The Muslim Student Club, under the Student Organization of Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, organized the Rural Development Volunteer Camp Project for the Academic Year 2024. The project aimed to provide students with opportunities to apply their academic knowledge to practical work and to strengthen relationships between students and the local community. The camp took place from November 19–29, 2024, at Darunmuttakeen Mosque (Ban Wat Nod) in Moklan Subdistrict, Tha Sala District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.
On November 29, 2024, Asst. Prof. Piya Prasongchan, Vice President, along with staff from the Division of Student Development, visited the camp to meet with 80 students from the Muslim Student Club. The students were supervised by Asst. Prof. Suhaidee Sani, the club’s advisor, during the construction of a small school building for Darunmuttakeen Mosque.
The construction was successfully completed within 10 days, and the building was officially handed over to the mosque committee on Thursday, November 29, 2024.
The project brought great pride and joy to the local community and was served as an educational opportunity for children and youth in rural areas with limited resources, while also instilling a sense of public service among university students. It encouraged them to make productive use of their semester break by contributing to society and applying classroom knowledge to real-world community development.
