The project “Exploring the World of Learning in Veterinary Science, Agriculture, and Agricultural Industrial” at the RUTS, Nakhon Si Thammarat Campus, involved 2nd-grade high school students and teachers from Benjamamarachuthit School in Pattani Province. Participants engaged in hands-on learning about soil preparation for planting, vegetable seedling cultivation, soil mix components, and plant propagation techniques such as air layering and grafting.
They also learned about cattle breeds and feeding practices, focusing on Beef master cattle and presentation techniques for cattle competitions. Additional topics included raising beef cattle, artificial insemination, live semen quality checks, utilizing cattle manure with manure compressing machines, and herding techniques using whips.
This activity aims to educate students about sustainable agricultural practices and animal husbandry. By equipping high school students with knowledge and skills in these areas, the project contributes to addressing food security and nutrition challenges. The hands-on learning experiences foster a deeper understanding of how responsible farming and veterinary practices can improve food production and availability, ultimately helping to combat hunger and promote healthier communities. Through this initiative, students not only gain practical skills but also become more aware of the importance of sustainable practices in addressing hunger and ensuring food sustainability.
