On October 30, 2024, Mr. Songklod Sawangwong, Governor of Trang Province, presided over the opening ceremony of “Trang 360°: Challenge Every Discovery.”
The event was held at Thanarom 2 Hall (3rd Floor), Thumrin Thana Hotel, Mueang Trang District, under the project “From Crisis to Adaptation: Developing High-Quality Gulf of Thailand–Andaman Marine Tourism through Learning Ecosystems, Modern Management, Technology, and Innovation.”

Objective: To enhance participants’ knowledge and broaden perspectives on sustainable tourism development, encouraging creative thinking and collaboration.
The project aims to strengthen Trang’s tourism capacity, improve competitiveness, and drive economic growth in the province, the southern region, and Thailand in a sustainable way.

Asst. Prof. Sitthichok Chanyong, Vice President of Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Trang Campus, emphasized that tourism is an industry of hope—a vital driver of Thailand’s economy and a key contributor to employment, investment, and social well-being.
He highlighted the importance of developing tourism potential in response to rapid change, fostering stakeholder participation in provincial tourism planning, and creating high-quality visitor experiences that generate long-term income. He concluded that the initiative not only addresses present challenges but also promotes future sustainability across economic, social, cultural, and environmental dimensions, ensuring the province’s growth remains inclusive and resilient.

Key Activities:

The event engaged 150 participants and integrated multi-sector collaboration across tourism networks.
Three main activities were organized:

  1. Panel Discussion: “Trang, the Emerald of Andaman – Through the Lens of Tourism Leaders”
    Featuring representatives from the Trang Tourism Business Association, Trang Tourism & Hotel Association, Pak Meng Beach Tourism Promotion Association, Kantang Tourism Promotion Association, Trang Tourism Industry Council, and Koh Libong Tourism Business Association.
  2. Special Lecture: “Directions in Tourism and Creative Economy for Enhancing the Competitiveness of Southern Thailand”
    Delivered by Prof. Dr. Thedchai Chuaybamrung, Director of the Doctor of Philosophy Program in Tourism Management, National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA).
  3. Workshop: “Setting Tourism Directions for Awareness and Understanding of Sustainable Resource-Based Development”
