Details:
In 2024, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) organized an extensive vocational training program to strengthen workforce skills and promote lifelong learning opportunities across the southern region of Thailand. The program integrated short-term, competency-based theoretical modules with hands-on practical training, designed to prepare participants for real-world employment. Training was delivered through three regional centers: (1) the Southern Border Center at the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology, (2) the Gulf of Thailand Center at the College of Industrial Technology and Management, and (3) the Andaman Center at the College of Hospitality and Tourism. The initiative aimed to train 1,000 participants, but successfully exceeded its target by reaching 1,155 individuals, achieving 115.5% of the planned KPI. Specifically, the Southern Border Center trained 374 participants (124.67%), the Gulf of Thailand Center 327 participants (109%), and the Nakhon Si Thammarat Center 454 participants (113.5%).
Impact Result (Summary):
The program expanded equitable access to vocational and lifelong learning opportunities across the southern provinces, successfully surpassing its target and equipping over 1,100 individuals with practical and employable skills. By combining theoretical instruction with intensive practical workshops, the initiative enhanced participants’ technical competencies, increased employability, and contributed to regional workforce development. This achievement reflects RUTS’s strong commitment to lifelong learning, skills empowerment, and inclusive education, in direct alignment with SDG 4: Quality Education, by preparing diverse learners for sustainable employment and community-driven economic growth.
