Engineering students from Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya showcased innovative projects at the Songkhla International Day of Persons with Disabilities in 2022. The theme of the event was “Reform for Inclusive Development: Empowering Innovations for an Accessible and Just World.”

The project was initiated by the Provincial Administration of Songkhla in collaboration with the Songkhla Provincial Disability Association and other related organizations. The aim was to improve the capabilities of community-based organizations and networks as part of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities event.

The showcased innovations encompassed semi-automated electric wheelchairs for individuals with lower-limb disabilities, semi-automated pressure-relief electric beds for bedridden patients, semi-automated three-wheeled electric vehicles for individuals with lower-limb disabilities, semi-automated solar-powered three-wheeled vehicles for individuals with lower-limb disabilities, and assistive lifting devices for individuals with lower-limb disabilities.

Associate Professor Zuhidi Sanee from the Industrial Engineering department and his team together with students were representatives at the Songkhla International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The event took place at the 60th Anniversary International Convention Center, Prince of Songkla University, Hat Yai, Songkhla Province. The main objective was to ensure equitable and accessible support for people with disabilities.
