Creating convenient and accessible facilities for people with disabilities is crucial to ensure inclusivity and equal access to public spaces. According to the regulations of Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya regarding education management for students with disabilities and support for their education in the academic year 2019, Section 3, Point 11, the university is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible environment for students with disabilities. This includes improving the physical infrastructure and various learning resources to ensure that students with disabilities can access and benefit from them conveniently.

Additionally, educational materials are developed, and curricula are adapted to suit the needs of students with disabilities. Career guidance and counseling are also provided to help these students transition into the workforce successfully upon completing their education.

Most individuals with disabilities do not want constant assistance from others. They desire independence and the ability to engage in various activities on their own. They want to make full use of their physical and mental abilities and take pride in self-reliance. Modifying buildings and facilities, as well as preparing amenities for people with disabilities, is essential for their convenience and safety when accessing places and services, ensuring easy and safe access for people with disabilities.

Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya has made modifications and prepared facilities for people with disabilities, including:

  1. Handicapped Parking: They have designated parking spaces close to the entrances, making it convenient for individuals with disabilities to access the premises. The parking spaces are located near entrance points.
  2. Ramps with Handrails: Ramps are constructed to be smooth for individuals using wheelchairs, and there are handrails for those with strong arms to move the wheelchair independently. For steeper ramps with longer distances, there are guardrails to enhance safety.
  3. Inclined Entry and Exit Doors: Entry and exit doors have inclined entrances, making it easy for wheelchair users to access and exit the premises. These doors are wide and easy to open and close.
  4. Accessible Restrooms: Restrooms have no thresholds, use non-slip materials on the floor, and provide handrails for convenience and safety. There are also sinks with space for wheelchairs to fit underneath, along with handrails on both sides.

These modifications and amenities enhance accessibility and convenience for individuals with disabilities at the university.
