Assistant Professor Nattapon Kaewthong, as a sub-committee on regional water resources in the southern region, the Songkhla Lake Basin Committee and the Songkhla Provincial Water Resources Committee, performs all duties with a volunteer spirit and has no money for the position. In the process of being both a policy maker for water management at the southern level, at the river basin level, the Songkhla Lake Basin and at the provincial level, Songkhla Province and is both a worker and a member of the project screening committee before attending the Songkhla Lake Basin Committee meeting. The main responsibilities can be summarized as follows.

1) Give advice, supervise, coordinate operations, give suggestions in preparing work plans/projects, including suggesting ways to solve obstacles for agencies to implement in order to increase the efficiency of water resource management to solve important problems regarding floods and droughts, including environmental and ecological problems related to water resources at the southern level and to prepare work plans, action plans and budget plans for integrated water resources management of government agencies , relevant government agencies and local government organizations at the provincial level according to the framework of the master plan at the basin level, Songkhla Lake Basin, and at the provincial level, Songkhla Province.

2) Follow up, expedite, inspect and coordinate project implementation and evaluation of water resources plans/projects that receive annual budgets of various agencies that receive annual budgets for 2022-2023 and the central budget for water resources. As well as accelerating the implementation of important projects to prepare for drought and flood problems in the southern region, as well as integrating and driving the provincial water resource management plan according to the basin level master plan framework in both normal and crisis situations.

3) Let the Provincial Water Resources Sub-Committee in the southern region consider acting to increase efficiency and recommend measures to solve water resource management problems in the overall water management according to duties and authority and integrate operations of local agencies.

4) Provide recommendations for the preparation and operation of risk management plans and response plans to support critical situations that may arise from flood, drought disasters and situations.

5) Consider, study and determine a holistic approach to solving water resource problems and recommend plans/projects and actions to the Chairman of the National Water Resources Committee in order to lead to sustainable water resource practices and management.

6) Collect, connect, and integrate data and information on water resources for water resource management at the provincial level.

During the work from 2022 until now, we have driven and integrated research carried out with work at the watershed level, such as pushing for the use of innovative salinity measuring devices in Songkhla Lake. This is an indicator of the risk of drought in the Songkhla Lake Basin in the Songkhla Lake Basin Drought Prevention Plan, which has already been approved by the Songkhla Lake Basin Committee.

1) Appointed as a sub-committee for Regional Water Resource Management in the southern region under National Water Resources Board Order No. 6/2022 on January 16, 2022, appointed by General Prawit Wongsuwan, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the National Water Resources Committee.

2) Appointed as a qualified basin committee member in the Songkhla Basin Committee on March 21, 2022, appointed by Mr. Paitoon Kengkarnchang, Director of the National Water Resources Office Region 4.

3) Appointed as a sub-committee for Provincial Water Resources on August 3, 2022, appointed by Mr. Surasee Kittimonthon, Secretary-General of the National Water Resources Office, Board Member and Secretary of the National Water Resources Board.

4) Appointed as a sub-committee to consider, screen and drive project plans in the Songkhla Lake Basin, appointed by Mr. Yuthaphon Wannako, Director of the Songkhla Lake Basin Coordination Group, Committee member and Secretary of the Songkhla Lake Basin.
