The results of various environmental management activities are aligned with the community’s needs and involve continuous monitoring and evaluation. Consequently, the operational outcomes have been quite successful. The executed activities have effectively improved the quality of life in the Bang Riang community, aligning with the primary project objectives in the following four areas (Figure 19):
1) Enhancing the economy and society through community tourism management: The community tourism initiatives have proven to be effective. Although the community market area at Moo 9, Ban Klong Chang, is currently closed, community leaders have transformed it into a unique agricultural tourist attraction. The project primarily targets family groups, providing them with opportunities to learn about environmental management in agricultural gardens. District and provincial agencies have been actively promoting this area as a study center for new agricultural garden management theories and as a community tourist attraction. This development has allowed neighboring communities to showcase and sell their products to tourists. Additionally, tourist attractions like Khlong Bang Riang Moo 5 and Ban Khok Muang Mangrove Forest Moo 12 have attracted a significant amount of tourist interest. The number of beneficiaries from the development of these tourist attractions has been steadily increasing. Notably, vulnerable groups in areas affected by the Covid-19 pandemic have benefitted from the development of the Ban Khok Muang Sea Farm area, which has generated income for these groups consistently.
2) Enhancing the economy and society with community products: The project’s activities have resulted in the creation of several new products. Notably, mobile products made from duck feet, sourced from the mangrove forest area of the Khok Muang Sea Farm, have been well-received in the market. Furthermore, the integration of project employers with the Bang Riang Subdistrict Municipality through the royal initiative’s plant genetic conservation project has allowed the application of local plant survey results to produce tie-dye fabric products within the community. This has led to the creation of a range of beautiful products, adding value from local natural resources.
3) Upgrading the economy and society through community innovation: The outcomes indicate that the innovations implemented to enhance the community’s quality of life have effectively contributed to the economy and society in Bang Riang sub-district. Solar incubators have been employed to promote the activities of community enterprises and the agricultural housewives’ group in Ban Na Kuan, Moo 13. They use solar ovens for baking raw materials used in the production of curry machines, resulting in high-quality raw materials. Additionally, the Bangriang Processing and Agrotourism Group community enterprises have applied this innovation to produce new community products, specifically dried salad, which the Group has already registered as an OTOP product as shown below.
