Asst. Prof. Thanwalai Jirandorn from the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Asst. Prof. Dr. Uraiwan Phetchakun from the Faculty of Science and Technology received the GOLD MEDAL award from the 8th International Invention Innovation Competition in Canada, iCAN 2023, via online format. Additionally, they received a special award from the Organization for Creativity, Innovation, and Invention Promotion (OCIIP) for their innovative work on “The extraction of beta glucan from Schizophyllum commune” The innovation in extracting substances was transferred to the Tha Kham Community Enterprise Group, Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province. The said enterprise group took the knowledge gained from the extraction process to develop it into products and distribute them to generate income.
