Office of Innovation Management and Technology Transfer (IMTT) at RUTS is a pioneer in the promotion of startup companies that are the result of research and innovation created within the university. IMTT has arranged several initiatives, including;
1. “Social Innovation” funded under the Southern Regional Social Innovation Driving Unit for the fiscal year 2023, managed by the Division of Technology and Innovation Promotion for Communities, Science Park and Social Innovation, Thaksin University. In 2023, 2 innovation projects were qualified as shown in Figure 1.

2. “Business Brotherhood” Fiscal year 2023, RUTS also promoted student entrepreneurs who take the initiative to create, develop, and manage a business while still pursuing their education. Balancing academic responsibilities with the challenges of running a startup, these individuals demonstrate a high level of ambition, creativity, and resilience. They identify problems or gaps in the market and leverage their skills and knowledge to create innovative solutions. By combining their learning from the classroom with real-world experience, student entrepreneurs gain valuable insights into business operations, networking, and problem-solving. This hands-on approach not only prepares them for future careers but also fosters a mindset of adaptability and continuous learning, essential for success in the fast-evolving business world. In 2023, 1 project was granted by the program “Business Brotherhood” as shown in Figure 2.

3. “Ideation Incentive Program” funded by the Technology and Innovation Entrepreneurs Development Fund (TED Fund), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation, under the incubation of the Joint Entrepreneur Development Network (TED Fellow). Under the program run by IMTT-RUTS, 2 projects were granted as shown in Figure 3.

RUTS also encouraged staffs and students to gain experience in startup by supporting them to join the competition e.g., “Startup Thailand League” organized by National Innovation Agency (NIA). In 2023, 1 innovation project “Virtual Experience Designer for Simulation Training” was qualified (Figure 4). This event has given a great experience and motivation to those participants.
