The University Business Incubator (UBI), under the Office of Innovation Management and Technology Transfer (IMTT), conducted a business concept competition RUTS Open House “Pitch IDEA 2024” on 18th December, 2024 under RUTS fair at Faculty of Engineering, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya. The competition’s objective was to encourage students with the opportunity to gain experience in pitching competitions that enable them to further develop their ideas into startup ventures; to prepare students to apply for project development funding from external sources; and to promote the emergence of new student entrepreneurs within the university.
A total of 18 teams from universities in Songkhla Province participated in the competition – 16 teams from Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RMUTSV) and 2 teams from Songkhla Rajabhat University.
The RUTS Open House “Pitch IDEA 2024” event yielded exceptionally favorable results. It provided students with invaluable practical experience in presenting their ideas, thereby refining critical skills such as communication, problem-solving, and business planning—skills required for addressing real-world entrepreneurial difficulties. The competition functioned as a venue for converting unique concepts into viable startup enterprises, with leading teams formulating business strategies capable of attracting external funding.
Moreover, participants acquired substantial networking possibilities, engaging with peers, mentors, and industry professionals, thus facilitating future collaborations and partnerships. The event enhanced the university’s entrepreneurial ecosystem by fostering a culture of innovation and motivating ongoing projects, workshops, and incubator programs to support the forthcoming generation of student entrepreneurs.
