Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RMUTSV) has integrated real-world community engagement into its teaching and learning through the project “Technology Transfer of Energy-Saving Stove for Traditional Thai Dessert Processing.”
Faculty members from the Faculty of Liberal Arts guided students to collaborate directly with the Ban Han Elderly Organic Agriculture Community Enterprise in Songkhla Province, allowing learners to apply academic knowledge to real community challenges.
Students from low-income backgrounds were given the opportunity to participate as research assistants, receiving stipends and hands-on experience in technology transfer, entrepreneurship development, and sustainability practices.
This approach supports equitable access to education (SDG 1.3.1–1.3.5) while fostering essential skills in problem-solving, teamwork, and social responsibility.
Through classroom integration, field-based learning, and cross-sector collaboration, the project connects theory to practice, helping students understand the social impact of innovation.
At the same time, community members gain practical training and support for income generation, reflecting SDG 1.4.1–1.4.4 in advancing inclusive, sustainable education that benefits both learners and local communities.
RMUTSV continues to demonstrate how teaching rooted in community innovation not only strengthens academic quality but also nurtures compassion and sustainable thinking—bridging knowledge and humanity in pursuit of the SDGs.
