Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), Faculty of Liberal Arts, in collaboration with the Prince of Songkla University Science Park and the Ban Han Elderly Organic Agriculture Community Enterprise, organized a community outreach programme under the project “Technology Transfer of Energy-Saving Stove for Traditional Thai Dessert Processing.”
The initiative aimed to empower elderly producers in Ban Han, Songkhla Province, by enhancing their skills, reducing production costs, and promoting clean energy use through community-based innovation.
Researchers, students, and community leaders worked together to design and demonstrate an energy-efficient stove, providing free workshops, mentorship, and technical guidance to ensure sustainable income for local families.
The collaboration was formalized in an MOU signing ceremony on 30 July 2024, attended by government officials, academics, and local entrepreneurs, marking a milestone in inclusive development.
This outreach activity reflects RUTS’s strong commitment to SDG 1.3.1–1.3.5, as students from low-income backgrounds participated in community research and received academic and financial support.
It also advances SDG 1.4.1–1.4.4, through knowledge sharing, financial and technological assistance, and partnership in local poverty-alleviation policy.
By linking research, education, and community engagement, RMUTSV continues to strengthen social equity and create sustainable change—proving that academic collaboration can truly transform communities and lives.
