Details:
Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), through the Faculty of Liberal Arts, collaborated with the Prince of Songkla University Science Park and the Ban Han Elderly Organic Agriculture Community Enterprise to implement the project “Technology Transfer of Energy-Saving Stove for Traditional Thai Dessert Processing.”
The cooperation was formalized in an MOU signing ceremony on 30 July 2024 at Ban Han Municipality Hall, Songkhla Province, attended by representatives from local government, academia, and the community.
The project aimed to develop and transfer energy-saving stove technology to support elderly entrepreneurs in Thai dessert production, reducing fuel costs and enhancing efficiency while preserving cultural heritage.
RMUTSV researchers and students jointly designed and demonstrated the technology, combining academic research with local innovation to create sustainable livelihoods.
This initiative aligns with SDG 1.3.1–1.3.5, as low-income students were involved as research assistants, receiving stipends and academic mentoring, ensuring equitable access and completion of education.
It also fulfills SDG 1.4.1–1.4.4, promoting community-based entrepreneurship through free training, technological support, and collaboration with local authorities in green innovation policy.
Through this project, RUTS demonstrates how research and innovation can effectively link education, community empowerment, and sustainability—turning scientific knowledge into real social impact that uplifts both students and local communities.
