Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RMUTSV) integrates the principles of SDG 1: No Poverty into its teaching and learning practices by creating opportunities for students to engage in real-world problem solving through community-based learning. The project allows students and faculty to collaborate directly with local communities in Pattani Province, applying academic knowledge in engineering, science, business management, and technology to strengthen community enterprises and promote sustainable development. Through fieldwork, participatory workshops, and project-based learning, students gain hands-on experience in designing appropriate technologies, analyzing local economic challenges, and proposing practical solutions that empower low-income populations. This experiential learning approach enhances not only technical skills but also social responsibility, empathy, and understanding of inclusive development. Faculty members act as mentors, guiding students to connect classroom theories with community realities. The process fosters innovation-driven learning while supporting the university’s mission to produce graduates capable of contributing to poverty reduction and sustainable livelihoods. This initiative aligns with SDG Target 1.3.4, as it helps equip future graduates with the knowledge and practical experience needed to uplift marginalized communities and ensure that education serves as a catalyst for social and economic transformation.
