On 5 October 2024, the research team from Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya participated in Farm Expo 2024 to support local pepper farmers and entrepreneurs from Trang Province. The activity was carried out in collaboration with the Trang Provincial Agriculture Office and the Trang Provincial Commerce Office.
The university facilitated the Young Smart Farmer group and local pepper producers to join the Farm to Table zone of the exhibition, where they showcased and sold their locally produced Trang pepper products.
The booth received strong interest from visitors, with continuous engagement and inquiries from potential customers, media interviews, and coverage throughout the event. Nearly all products were sold out, generating immediate income for local producers and increasing the visibility of Trang pepper as a high-value local product.
This activity demonstrates the university’s role in supporting local farmers and food producers through:
- Creating opportunities for market access and direct sales.
- Supporting partnerships between government agencies and farmer groups.
- Promoting high-value agricultural products through Farm to Table initiatives.
- Strengthening the local agricultural economy and branding of Trang pepper.
The participation in Farm Expo 2024 is a clear example of how Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya supports local farmers and food producers by connecting them to consumers through Farm to Table initiatives. By collaborating with local government agencies and Young Smart Farmers, the university helped strengthen market access, generate income, and enhance the branding of Trang pepper as a local agricultural product.
