On February 6, 2024, RUTS (Khanom Campus) showcased outstanding creativity and innovation at the Reinventing University competition, winning three prestigious awards. The initiative was led by the RUTS, with student teams from the Accounting and Electrical Engineering programs participating in an innovation camp alongside faculty members, researchers, and local entrepreneurs.
The goal of the program was to develop food product and machinery innovations that could be commercialized and add value to local products. The student teams successfully designed and developed three prototype machines: a hybrid drying cabinet, a honey spinner, and a rotating cocoa dryer. These machines are intended to enhance local entrepreneurs’ capacity by improving product quality and creating greater value in food processing.
The prototypes received significant recognition from the judging panel:
- Hybrid Drying Cabinet (Ronnachai Jaihao and Kalyanee Pradab) — Second Runner-Up Award for Outstanding Entrepreneurial Development.
- Rotating Cocoa Dryer (Phonlawat Sritaveep and Sarawut Thongphrao) — Honorable Mention for Prototype Product.
- Honey Spinner (Surachet Pandam and Thanaphan Phetcharoen) — Second Runner-Up Award for Outstanding Entrepreneurship.
The team was mentored by Dr. Pimpisa Promma, Asst. Prof. Dr. Arkom Laksanaskul, Asst. Prof. Dr. Aparn Klaewthanong, and Mr. Apirun Chanthong.
