Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya initiated this research project to strengthen the capacity and competitiveness of native crossbred chicken producer groups in the central southern region of Thailand. The project aims to support local agricultural systems while promoting sustainable food sources for the university community. This initiative not only supports local farmers but also provides a food supply for students and university staff. By producing native crossbred chickens through organized farmer networks, the project ensures that quality and safe poultry products can be used for both educational purposes and as affordable food options on campus. This contributes to enhancing food security and reducing the risk of hunger among students. Key Impacts: Strengthens local agricultural networks through organized chicken production. Enhances food availability for students and staff within the university. Promotes the use of locally produced, sustainable food sources. Encourages collaboration between academic research, community development, and student welfare. This project demonstrates how academic research and community engagement can be integrated to support student hunger interventions. By developing sustainable poultry production networks, RUTS provides both learning opportunities and affordable food resources.
