The Office of Innovation, Management, and Technology Transfer (IMTT) at Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) has facilitated a collaborative project between Siam Michelin Co., Ltd. (Hat Yai, Songkhla), the Faculty of Engineering, and the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology to create a 2025 training course. This partnership supports SDG9 by promoting technology transfer, driving innovation in industrial practices, and building a skilled workforce for sustainable industry.

The Pneumatic and Hydraulic Systems Training Program is strategically designed to empower individuals with the expertise required to design, install, operate, and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Covering fluid power principles, system components, control mechanisms, safety protocols, environmental responsibility, and practical certification, this program directly supports SDG9 by contributing to:

– Target 9.2: Promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization (through efficient and reliable system operation).

– Target 9.4: Upgrading infrastructure and retrofitting industries to make them sustainable (by focusing on best practices in design and maintenance).

– Target 9.5: Enhancing scientific research, upgrading the technological capabilities of industrial sectors (by providing advanced technical skills).

As industries increasingly embrace Industry 4.0 and its focus on data-driven optimization, a well-trained workforce is essential for the effective operation of pneumatic and hydraulic systems. This Pneumatic and Hydraulic Systems Training Program directly addresses this need, providing individuals with the skills to leverage smart technologies for predictive maintenance, improved system performance, and ultimately, a stronger industrial workforce. Graduates will benefit from enhanced job prospects, increased earning potential, improved safety awareness, and career advancement opportunities. The program develops expertise in operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, enabling participants to analyze data, identify potential issues, and optimize system parameters. Safety is enhanced through a deep understanding of system behavior and potential hazards. The program’s focus on efficiency and cost-effectiveness equips participants to contribute to greater productivity and profitability by minimizing downtime and maximizing system uptime. The enhanced problem-solving skills developed through the training program are crucial for responding to the complex challenges of digitally connected systems. In conclusion, this training is essential for individuals seeking to thrive in the Industry 4.0 era, empowering them to contribute to smarter, more efficient, and more reliable industrial operations.
