Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) places strong emphasis on enhancing the academic potential and career advancement of its faculty members. To strengthen the quality and excellence of its academic staff, the university organized the “Accelerated Academic Promotion Program” between April-August, 2024, under the coordination of the Office of Human Resources Management in collaboration with relevant departments.
The program aimed to enhance faculty understanding of the academic promotion process and provide close consultation from distinguished experts holding advanced academic ranks in both the sciences and social sciences. The activities included lectures, personalized mentoring sessions, and practical workshops on academic writing, textbook development, and research production in alignment with the standards set by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI)
Throughout the program, the experts shared first-hand experiences on developing academic works-from formulating research concepts and designing methodologies to data analysis, report writing, and formatting academic manuscripts suitable for submission toward academic promotion. Participants also received individualized feedback, helping them refine and improve writing an academic textbook for university-level teaching.
The outcomes of the program indicated that faculty participants gained deeper understanding of academic promotion procedures, improved their ability to plan and produce scholarly works systematically, and developed greater motivation to advance their research and academic textbook projects. Several participants also began preparing documentation for academic rank application in the coming year. These results demonstrate the program’s success in fostering professional academic growth and developing “academic excellence through fast-track advancement.”
This initiative represents a key mechanism in driving the university’s strategic mission of “Creating People, Creating Innovation for Sustainable Development.” It also aligns with RUTS’s vision of becoming a High-Performance University, committed to increasing the number of faculty members holding academic positions and continually improving the quality of teaching, research, and academic services for society
