SDG10: Reduced Inequalities
Institutional Policy and Financial Subsidies for Students with Disabilities
Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) demonstrates a strong commitment to reducing inequalities by enacting institutional regulations B.E. 2562 (2019) that guarantee equal educational rights and opportunities for students with disabilities. The university waives direct educational fees and waives barriers to higher education by admitting students with disabilities across various academic levels based on their qualifications. Additionally, RUTS provides targeted financial aid, securing educational subsidies totaling 231,875 baht from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation to alleviate financial burdens for these students.
Inclusive Physical and Digital Infrastructure Development
To ensure an inclusive learning environment, RUTS has upgraded its physical and digital infrastructure to provide seamless accessibility across campuses. Physical accommodations include dedicated ramps, elevators, accessible restrooms, and reserved parking spaces. In classrooms, students with disabilities receive priority front seating, tailored teaching methods, and lecture audio-recording allowances. Furthermore, the university's official website integrates specialized digital Accessibility Tools to ensure barrier-free access to online educational resources for all users.

Promoting Gender Equality and Diversity Inclusion
RUTS actively promotes social inclusion and gender equality by fostering an accepting atmosphere for LGBTQ+ communities through student-led activities. The Division of Student Development hosted the "MISS QUEEN RUTS 2025" pageant under the theme "FLAME OF THE PHOENIX," creating a safe, expressive platform for LGBTQ+ students to showcase their potential, talents, and creativity. This initiative plays a vital role in reducing gender-based bias and discrimination, encouraging mutual respect, and upholding human dignity within the university campus.

Assistive Medical Innovation for Physical Rehabilitation
The university drives research and innovation focused on improving health equity and supporting vulnerable populations with physical impairments. Researchers developed an "Automatic Leg Rehabilitation Machine" equipped with IoT technology, adjustable resistance, and continuous passive/active motion settings to support physical therapy for the elderly and individuals with mobility impairments. This technology significantly lowers barriers to accessing advanced healthcare, helping users regain mobility and participate equitably in society.

Smart Technology Innovations for Aging Society
Addressing the challenges of Thailand's aging society, RUTS researchers have also successfully developed "Smart Assistive Innovations for the Daily Living of Elderly Thais". Designed with ergonomic principles, these innovations include pressure- and fall-detecting smart floor mats with caregiver alert systems, alongside adapted smart kitchen amenities. By enhancing safety, self-reliance, and quality of life for the elderly, RUTS continuously reinforces its academic mission to create an inclusive society where no one is left behind.
