Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology, and the university units responsible for student recruitment and educational guidance, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS).
Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) is committed to advancing gender equality and expanding educational opportunities for female students, particularly in engineering and technology disciplines where women have traditionally been underrepresented. The university encourages women’s participation in fields such as Marine Engineering by highlighting female students’ achievements and promoting mentoring, workshops, and networking opportunities that support their academic and professional development.
Through initiatives such as Srivijaya Fair, RUTS provides prospective students, including young women, with opportunities to explore academic programmes, receive educational guidance, and participate in hands-on learning experiences. Activities organized by the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology feature electrical engineering demonstrations, smart robotics, and augmented and virtual reality technologies, inspiring students to explore diverse educational and career pathways in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
These initiatives help raise awareness of opportunities for women in traditionally male-dominated fields, challenge gender stereotypes, and encourage female students to pursue their academic and career aspirations with confidence. By promoting inclusive access to STEM education and supporting women’s participation in engineering and technology, RUTS contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 5 (SDG 5): Gender Equality, fostering women’s empowerment, equal educational opportunities, and greater gender diversity in higher education.
