On 18 August 2025, the Resource and Environmental Management Program at Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RMUTSV), Trang Campus, integrated teaching and learning in the Environmental Communication course with a knowledge transfer activity on waste management and wastewater treatment. The activity was organized in collaboration with the Southern Regional Center of the Laem Phak Bia Royal Initiative Project at Ban Chang Lang School, Mai Fat Subdistrict, Sikao District, Trang Province, for 55 school students.

The activity aimed to foster environmental awareness and responsibility among young people and the wider public, while providing the participating school students with knowledge of appropriate waste management and wastewater treatment. It also gave university students an opportunity to apply environmental communication skills in a school setting.

During the morning session, university students practiced communicating environmental information through the “Young Environmental Guardians” activity. The session covered the current waste situation and related problems, waste segregation, and waste management based on the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.

During the afternoon session, staff from the Southern Regional Center provided knowledge of water and wastewater management. Activities included a lecture on the meaning, importance, and properties of water; an acid–base learning station; and a “From Wastewater to Clear Water” learning station.

The activity provided environmental learning opportunities for 55 school students and a practical setting for university students to apply their environmental communication skills. The collaboration connected classroom learning with community outreach through waste and water education. No quantitative assessment of learning gains, changes in behavior, or reductions in waste or wastewater pollution was provided.
