From January to October 2025, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), Trang Campus, implemented an action plan to reduce marine debris in accordance with the RUTS Policy on Reducing Marine Pollution. The initiative promoted environmental awareness through interactive workshops and emphasizing the ecological impacts of marine debris. The action plan enhanced environmental awareness among students, staff, and local communities, encouraged participation to reduce marine debris and protect coastal ecosystems.
The Action Plan to Reduce Marine Debris aims to raise awareness of marine pollution, promote environmental education, and encourage the reuse of marine debris through creative activities.
In January 2025, planning and educational materials were prepared. In February, a virtual reality (VR) exhibition was held at Sikao School, Trang Province, to educate students about marine debris and its impacts.
From March to August, feedback was reviewed and materials for creative activities were developed. In September, an exhibition of artwork made from marine debris and a keychain-making workshop promoted waste reuse and marine conservation.
From October to December, activity outcomes were evaluated and documented. Overall, the plan aims to strengthen environmental awareness, encourage community participation, and support continued marine debris reduction efforts.

On 6 February 2025, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) co-organized an exhibition featuring virtual reality (VR) technology to explore the underwater world at an academic event held at Sikao School in Sikao District, Trang Province. The activity introduced students and participants to immersive marine environments, raising awareness of marine conservation and environmental protection. Participants also learned about the impacts of plastic waste and human-induced pollution on marine ecosystems. The use of VR technology represents an innovative approach to communicating marine environmental knowledge and promoting conservation awareness among young people.

On 23 September 2025, during the “United for the Protection of Trang’s Marine Environment” event held at the RUTS Trang Campus Conference Building, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) organized an exhibition and marine conservation activities, including artworks made from marine debris and keychain-making workshops using marine waste. These activities raised awareness of the environmental impacts of marine debris and attracted considerable interest from participants, reflecting RUTS’s commitment to the sustainable conservation of marine resources.
